Money Maker – NOT!
June 8th, 2007 by moniesSeems like more and more kids are influencing the top keyword searches in google. When you look at the top searches, whether it be AOL’s, or Lycos Top 50, or Word Tracker, you will find things like celebrities, movies, myspace, rap, video games, etc… These entertainment type searches have been popular for a very long time and will continue to dominate the search engine ranks for years to come.
So many advertisers are chasing these keywords and losing their shirts in pay per click like adwords. I just ran across another keyword that advertisers are wasting their money on. Today I looked at the keyword “money maker”. I typed it into google and 9 ads came up. 8 of them were about how to make money online. The remaining single ad about listening to music is probably the only one that got it right.
You see, the most likely person to type in the keyword phrase “money maker” is probably some teenager who wants to download the song by Ludacris titled “Money Maker” and is probably not the least bit interested in “how to make money online.” I assume this based on the following data:
Searches done in November 2006
Count Search Term
187264 money maker
15237 shake your money maker
10537 money maker lyric
6990 ludacris maker money
3917 act make maker millionaire money think way wealthy
3749 ludacris lyric maker money
2660 shake that money maker
2540 shake your money maker lyric
2277 shake ya money maker
2083 ludacris lyric maker money shake
1473 maker money shake yo
1075 by ludacris lyric maker money
Although this “Ludacris” fan may click on “how to make money” ads, what do you think the conversion is going to be? The only keyword in the list that I would maybe buy is “act make maker millionaire money think way wealthy”. Of course I would trim it down to “money maker think” or “money maker wealthy”. So instead of a 1 in 20 chance of getting someone interested in making money online, I’ve narrowed it down to almost a 100% chance while lowering my cost per click from $0.90 to $0.10 or less.

Affiliate Marketing: An Online Marketing Strategy
June 4th, 2007 by moniesEverybody it seems can make money online. The simplest way perhaps is to make money online through affiliate marketing. If you have a website, you can list other people’s websites on yours and become an affiliate, making money online through sales commissions every time someone goes to their site through yours and makes a purchase. You can make anywhere from 5% to 30% by just advertising their link.
Further, affiliate marketing allows you to make money online by earning commissions off sub-affiliates, people you have brought on to be affiliates of the parent company. These two-tiered affiliates may seem like a pyramid scheme, but the point is, it generates a tremendous amount of traffic to your site as well as to your partners’ sites, which helps everyone make money online.
The biggest key to making money online through an affiliate program is by generating traffic. You won’t make money online, though, by adding numerous links that have nothing to do with you or your product. For example, if you are a web developer, you won’t make money online by becoming an affiliate of websites selling fishing equipment. However, you can make money online by becoming an affiliate of web development software. Make money online by linking to bookstores that carry books your clients may be interested in or trade publications and e-zines. As with any business, it all depends on who you market to.
In order to make money online, you need diligence and perseverance. It won’t be made overnight, but through continual marketing efforts, you can make money online.

Make Money with a Home Business
June 1st, 2007 by moniesIf you are reading this, I’m sure you are where I was, 3 months ago. In a position where I just didn’t have enough money to make ends meet, and working ridiculous hours, just to pay for the basic things, with no money left over, Sound familiar? Ok read on.
Three months ago, I decided to look into the particular fascination of “make money with a home business”. I saw lots of ads claiming you could make money with a home business doing as little as 2 hours work per day, and a lot of money.
I was interested in finding out if there were any legitimate home business opportunities out there, or if it was just a hype, based on our curiousity, that didn’t make anyone money, apart from the author.
Everyone wants to make easy money from home. I searched hard into the market, going through countless websites, with amazing claims on how I could make fast money from home. I wanted to make money with a home business as I’m sure you do to.
Needless to say, I went through many sites, that were clearly scams. However, I did manage to find some sites that proposed real working methods, to make money online. How did I know they worked? Good question. I asked people who were using these techniques, and they talked me through it and explained how they made money with it.

What is More Important? Money or Time?
June 1st, 2007 by moniesI guess a lot of it depends on the person. Some enjoy making money more than they do having time and with others it is the exact opposite. They could care less about money as long as they have the time to do what they want. In my mind, the obvious answer is time. Time is always more important. You can always get more money….but you can’t ever get more time. You have a specific amount of time that you are here on this earth in existence. Now what are you doing with it?
Is it possible to have both, time and money? What would life be like then? Perfect? It is always said that money will not make you happy. I agree on that 100%. The only thing that can make you happy is you. But money sure is a helpful tool in having that ideal life. All those vacations you dream of, that car, the house, the kids, all cost money. You must first become happy, then use money to make those dreams become a reality.
