Product Development and Marketing Means Money for You
January 1st, 2007 by moniesCompanies frequently use market research surveys to make decisions on product-development and marketing. By participating in surveys, you will have a major influence over the products you see on store shelves, services offered to you, and advertisements you see on television or in print.
A paid survey is a type of online statistical survey where the participant is rewarded through an incentive program. A paid survey is used to collect quantitative information about the participant’s personal and economic habits. Often used by marketing firms to test new advertisements, they offer the participant a cash reward or entry into a sweepstakes program.
Legitimate paid surveys exist because, in order to remain competitive in their given markets, companies need a better understanding of their customers and the customers’ perception of products. Surveys that are legitimate are separated by personal demographics so that the data will better apply to the target audience the marketing firm is trying to reach.
Because the corporate marketing companies need to understand consumer perceptions in-depth, they will offer incentives to survey participants. A participant will never have to pay for a legitimate paid survey.
Who decided cereal should come in a box? That soup should be microwaveable, and that diapers should have adhesive? Those decisions were ultimately made by corporate America, but they were based on input from people like you - mothers caring for children in the home.
“When it comes to voicing what they want, people aren’t shy, but to make things happen, someone has to be listening. We bring the consumers who will be ultimately using the product and decision makers together,” says Pam Kramer of The Zoom Panel.
“It is critical for companies to know what people think of products they’re developing and things on the market right now. We help them gather the information they need through surveys, home tests, focus groups and other market research projects our members participate in, and love doing,” says Kramer.
What Are The Surveys About?
Surveys range from cars to baby clothing, cereal to cell phones, motor oil to television shows, and magazine ads to skin care, surveys for clients cover a wide range of topics. You will see many companies and name brands you already know.
How Do Paid Surveys Work?
Survey companies will send an invitation by email when a survey is available. You simply follow the link and reply to the questions. Some surveys are more involved than others. One may consist of one or two simple questions and pay 10 to 75 cents. While another may take 25 to 30 minutes and pay $10.00. The money you earn is accumulated in your account. When your balance reaches the payout level you are then able to request payment. Payment level is generally $10.00 but varies with different survey companies.
